Do you know the Apocalypse Clock? It’s not a joke, it’s actually scientists who created it!
How long can the human species still hope to live? On Thursday, atomic scientists changed the time of the apocalypse. This is something very serious. These experts indeed determine the “Doomsday Clock ”, whether they move forward or backward according to certain parameters….

In January each year, the position of the needle may change. The experts then update a Bulletin of Atomic Scientists. The time is always indicated in relation to midnight, which here symbolizes the hour of the apocalypse or the end of humanity.
Does that make you smile? Are you thinking of April 1st? It may seem strange indeed, the approach is not intended to be less serious. Moreover, the calculation of the time is the result of meticulous work by world-renowned scientists. Bad news: according to these experts, the extinction of humanity is now on the verge of us.
What time is it ?
But that can still change. Indeed, in January 2017, atomic scientists had set the time of the apocalypse at 11:57 p.m. and 30 seconds, or 2 minutes and 30 seconds before midnight.
In January 2018, they set a new record. The clock hands are indeed found at 11:58 p.m., or 2 minutes before midnight. This, therefore, means that in the space of a year, the world situation has clearly deteriorated.
This clock thus reflects the general state of the planet, influenced by the daily action of man and States and their consequences.
Every year since 1947, we set the record straight!
Created in 1947, the Doomsday Clock was born thanks to scientists who worked on the atomic bomb. They later realized that the use of this atomic bomb could wipe out life on earth in a very short time.
Since 1947, every year, researchers from the most prestigious American universities calculate the time of the apocalypse.
Scientists thus base themselves on several indices to measure the time of the end of the world. For example, the proliferation of nuclear weapons, but also technological innovations, cyberattacks, or even the climate crisis and global warming.
The climate factor now takes a decisive place in the measure of survival of the planet. In 2018, we were at the same hour of the Apocalypse as in 1953. The presidential campaign in the United States, with the remarks made by Donald Trump, on the elimination of the nuclear arsenal of the United States, had by example been recently taken into account. Or his assumed climate skepticism, which indeed worries scientists.
