A woman has spent €50,000 on plastic surgeries to look like her idol, Marilyn Monroe.
23-year-old reality TV star and musician Serena Smith has spent that amount of money in just six years, saying it has boosted her confidence.
Some of the more extensive operations she’s had include rhinoplasty (surgery that changes the shape of the nose), to achieve a glamorous ‘Hollywood nose’, as well as less invasive procedures like Botox and lip fillers. Additionally, she recently underwent a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).
“It gave me the rounder look I was looking for”
“I’m very happy with the results,” Serena told the Daily Mail. “The operation completely changed my body proportions and gave me the rounder appearance I was looking for. »
However, Serena added that everyone should be extremely careful in choosing the surgeon, as BBL is the most dangerous plastic surgery, with the highest mortality rate.
She added that a BBL involves removing fat from areas such as the stomach, back, and flanks using liposuction and transplanting it into the buttocks and hips.
Due to the nature of the operation, fat embolisms are a real risk and are the most common complication.
“The recovery procedure is very intense, certainly the hardest so far,” she said. “You have to wear a compression garment 23 hours a day for two months and it can get quite uncomfortable. »
“The most painful part of the recovery was the first two weeks because I was hurting everywhere. I was covered in bruises and very swollen. »
