“Women must go on a sex strike against men who eat meat”, claims PETA

The animal rights organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has found an innovative way to prevent humans from eating meat: the sex strike.

The German branch of PETA cited a study from the scientific journal Plos One, which suggests that men cause 41% more pollution than women because they eat more meat.

Going on a sex strike “to save the world”

The organization said this ‘toxic masculinity is killing the planet and should be fought with the sex strike ‘for all meat-eating men’, as well as a ban on having children, The Telegraph reports. She claims that each unborn child would save 58.6 tonnes of CO2 per year.

“We all know the suburban dads with their beer and barbecue tongs sizzling 70-cent sausages on their 700 euro grill,” said Daniel Cox of PETA Germany. “The zucchini added by the guest is viewed with suspicion and only begrudgingly tolerated,” he added before urging German men to go vegan.

A tax on meat

PETA also called for “a hefty meat tax of 41%” for men.

“The fact that German ‘grill masters’ believe they have to prove their masculinity to themselves and their fellow humans through their meat consumption does not only come at the expense of the animals, however,” Cox said. “It is now scientifically proven that toxic masculinity also harms the climate. A heavy tax on meat of 41% for men should therefore be introduced. »

Cox adds that “a ban on sex or procreation for all meat-eating men would also be helpful in this context.”
